  • After working as a proofreader and freelance feature writer at Gulf News for 8 years, Claire worked as the marketing manager of a leading property management company in Dubai.
  • While freelancing for Friday magazine (Dubai), Claire wrote an article about green building, and this got her interested in sustainable architecture and home design.
  • Although Claire admits that she didn't inherit her mom's and maternal grandmother's green thumbs, it didn't stop her from going plant-crazy during the pandemic and building a mini jungle in her balcony.

Claire has been writing professionally since 2009. Back in 2014, she helped set up Ananke, a UAE-based online women's magazine, by writing articles on women's issues and working as the features editor. It was during her stint with Ananke that Claire experienced one of the high points of her writing career: interviewing Marion Nestle, a prominent American food scientist, molecular biologist, and public health advocate. She now works full time as a content editor, and continues to freelance as an editor, copywriter, ghostwriter, and writing reviewer.

Claire has a bachelor's degree in English and has yet to finish her thesis for her master's in sociocultural anthropology.
