  • Felicia researched and wrote for an interior design supplement for the Palo Alto Weekly.
  • She has written web and promotional copy for numerous builders, interior designers, and manufacturers of wall coverings and other design accessories.
  • A fascination with local history led her to research and document the history and chain of ownership of a historic Los Angeles mansion locally rumored to have been owned by Harry Houdini and/or Errol Flynn. (Spoiler alert: It wasn't – but top bands including the Red Hot Chili Peppers have recorded albums there.)

Experience

Felicia inherited a fascination with design and architecture from her father, who enjoyed peeking into homes under construction and commenting on their layout and design. This, combined with an interest in local history, led to an interest in historic preservation and how design trends and the use of space evolve over time. In addition, after purchasing a home later discovered to be held together by botched renovations, she got a crash course on both how not to tile, plaster, and paint interiors, as well as how to fix these problems correctly on a limited budget. She has written about gardening and design for numerous local publications.

Education

Felicia holds a BA with honors and an MA in English from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Cordon Bleu certificate in pastry and baking (with honors) from the California School of Culinary Arts.
