  • Kristy is an avid thrifter with an unusual obsession with vintage dishware, mid-century handbags, and old office chairs.
  • She occasionally pens online lesson content in the arts and humanities with a focus on art history, architecture, and design.
  • While growing up, she watched way too much HGTV in the middle of the night and now cannot stop obsessing over her 1930s apartment and its décor.

For House Blog, Kristy has written extensively about design and DIY projects, with a heavy favor toward upcycling, repurposing, and decorating with vintage and antiques. She has written arts, culture, and lifestyle content for a number of publications and websites, including Worthpoint, Thriftcon, E-How, Cozymeal, and She blogs about writing, art, vintage style, and other miscellany at Dulcetly: Notes On A Bookish Life on Blogspot. A writer and book artist who creates a series of zines, artist's books, and paper goods, she is the author of several collections of poetry. Bowen is currently at work on a memoir that marries two of her favorite pursuits— writing and thrifting.
