How To Easily Add A Pantry Cabinet For Extra Kitchen Storage
Pantry cabinets are budget-friendly and great for tight layouts. They can be installed like kitchen wall cabinets or as free-standing pieces of furniture with shelves for storage.
Pantry cabinets can be between 84 and 96 inches in height, the latter of which is the equivalent of 8 feet, which is the standard ceiling height for most rooms.
Most cabinet pantries are between 24 and 36 inches wide, and having one that's a depth of 18 or 24 inches will make it easier to stay organized while providing extra storage.
To create your own, you can hire a fabrication company to make a custom cabinet or simply buy ready-to-assemble cabinets. RTA cabinets are usually the least expensive of the two.
Hiring a fabricator to create a custom cabinet costs between $500 and $1,200 per linear foot and allows you to seamlessly match the other cabinets and choose the size and layout.
To go the RTA route, install a pre-made framed, unfinished pantry cabinet at the end of a run of cabinets so long as you choose the right cabinet style to match the current facade.
Your final option is to purchase a free-standing cabinet to use as a pantry. These can often act as a feature of the room, especially if you find a bold color or style.
