What You Should Skip Cleaning With Clorox Wipes In The Kitchen & Why
Clorox wipes are popular for disinfecting homes, as they kill 99.9% of germs. However, unless you use them correctly, it may be better to avoid using them in your kitchen.
The chemicals in Clorox wipes can damage surfaces like granite countertops, even if they're protected with a sealant, so the wipes must only be used on hard, non-porous surfaces.
If you don't use Clorox wipes correctly to wipe kitchen countertops, you'll just spread germs around. To properly sanitize, use one wipe per surface and give it enough time to dry.
Never use Clorox wipes to clean or disinfect dishes, including pet bowls, because the chemicals they leave behind can be harmful to consume, according to Arthur Andrew Medical.
Missouri Poison Center cautions that bleach can irritate your skin, mouth, and throat, and cause stomach upsets and vomiting if ingested, so keep it out of reach of kids and pets.
